El IELTS (English Language Testing System) is an English exam that assesses the proficiency of all candidates that need to work or study in places where English is the language of communication.

The test is jointly managed and designed by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations the British Council and IELTS Australia. The test conforms to the highest standards of language assessment. It assesses the candidate’s skills in four basic skills: reading, writing speaking and listening.

IELTS is recognized by universities and employers in many countries including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. It is also recognized by professional bodies, immigration authorities and other government agencies.

TEST STRUCTURE

The exam is available in two formats. Academic and General Training.

The Academic training module assesses whether the candidate is ready to study in an English speaking environment at an undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The General Training module emphasises Basic survival skills in a broad social and educational context. General Training is suitable for candidates who are going to English speaking countries to complete secondary education, to work, to do an intership, people who want to apply for a residents visa to Australia, New Zeland and Canada or graduate from a Colombian university  that has as a requisite. 

The Listening ans Speaking section are the same for the two formats whereas the Reading and Writing sections are different depending on the training chosen.  Part of the traning for the  former two sections are computer based thanks to a variety of software that helps the student get acquainted with these parts of the exam.

30 hours course

  •  Sections: writing, reading, listening, speaking
  • Practice and exercises
  • Personalized classes (1 to 1 with teacher)
  • Courses could be adapted to student´s needs in some cases
